Denise is the Senior Technician of the Diagnostic Imaging/Small Animal Radiology and Ultrasound Department at the Foster Hospital for Small Animals. She has been in the department for seven years.
She said that from very early on she has always been around and involved with animals. Denise realized that animals are not capable of seeking help on their own or know that they need medical attention; she has always wanted to contribute to getting and giving them care.
Denise feels she was lucky to fall into her current position in Radiology thanks to the need for a supervisor. Working in Radiology allows her to work across many specialties throughout the Foster Hospital. “I’m proud to say that my skills were strongly developed by peer technicians as well as the faculty in Surgery, Radiology and Medicine, just to name a few,” she said.
She really enjoys the fast-paced environment and the constant ability to advance her knowledge base. “Each Technician at Tufts specializes. We are able to be a step ahead in learning new techniques and procedures to improve our specialty by working beside many great veterinary professionals.”
When she is not at work she enjoys gardening, riding dirt bikes with her family, waterskiing, and fitness, cooking/baking and playing with her dog, a Belgian Malinois. Denise devotes most of her weekends watching her kids’ race in off-road dirt bike series. Three cats also keep her busy during her off-hours.
