Vet Olympics is a way of celebrating the end of the academic year for Cummings School students, who enjoy a day of fun and relaxation as they prepare for final exams, summer clinics, or graduation. It brings all students, faculty and clinicians together for an exciting day of games and activities! This is an annual Cummings School tradition and something everyone looks forward to sharing together. Each year, teams of six members are formed, and the field is spotted with a rainbow of team-specific colored T-shirts. Many agree that one of the best parts of the day is getting to see the creativity in the team names, some of which have included The Catvengers, Stud Puffins, and You’ve Cat to be Kitten Me Right Meow.
First-year students lead the way as event organizers and student referees create a fun and supportive environment officiating the games and promoting spirited sportsmanship. All those participating enjoy an array of activities, including water balloon tosses, three-legged races, and tug -of-war, while competing for prizes donated by local companies. The winning team walks away with bragging rights as Olympic champions and some great prizes.
