Jennifer Yu, DVM, MCM’17

Jennifer Yu, DVM, MCM’17 received her BS in Evolution, Ecology, and Biodiversity and her DVM from University of California-Davis. “Growing up in sunny California, I learned to love the outdoors and wildlife from an early age. As an undergraduate, I volunteered at wildlife rehabilitation centers, including the California Raptor Center, where I first developed a passion for birds. I also spent time in a fish physiology lab, researching how native species could adapt to changing climate conditions and land/water use. After undergrad, I moved on to veterinary pursuits and worked as a technician in general practice. In veterinary school, I externed with a couple of zoos and the National Wildlife Research Center. I look forward to bringing my veterinary perspective to wildlife conservation and practicing population-level medicine. The MCM Program is the perfect vehicle to merge my two passions; I have particular interests in ecology, reconciling wildlife-human conflict, and invasive species management.”
