Sara Colin, MCM’18

Next we’d like to introduce Sara Colin, “My name is Sara Colin and I am from the suburbs of Chicago, IL. I completed my undergraduate bachelors of science degrees in Biological Sciences and Earth & Environmental Sciences at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC). During my 4 years at UIC, I’ve completed research ecology and atmosphere sciences and was a teaching assistant for a biological colloquium course. In my free time I volunteered at the Willowbrook Wildlife Center as a clinical assistant where I help injured and sick wildlife. I also enjoy traveling, Netflix binging, and exploring nature. Before the MCM program, I was working as a veterinary technician at a small animal clinic in my home state of Illinois. I would love to gain more experience in researching wildlife, and working hands-on to provide medical care to any wild animal in need. My ultimate goal is to become a veterinarian specializing in wildlife/zoo medicine, and I hope my time in the MCM program will help me along the path to achieve this goal!”
