Briana Stockdale, MCM’18

Next we have Briana Stockdale, MCM’18, “I grew up exploring the lush Smoky Mountains surrounding Knoxville, TN and quickly became enraptured by all the creatures that also called them home. From a young age, I knew I wanted a career aiding animals, and as I got older, my love for biology and medicine blossomed. I graduated with a BS in Biology and a minor in Chemistry from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. During my time as a student and post-graduation, I worked as a veterinary assistant in Durham, NC. I also gained informative conservation experience interning at the Knoxville Zoo, where I studied Western Lowland Gorillas, and as a Technician Assistant at the Duke Lemur Center. I hope to utilize my future conservation medicine and veterinary education to protect species and their native habitats. I am excited to learn from leaders in the field of conservation medicine and gain knowledge that will inform my future work. When I am not working, I like to spend time traveling and hiking with my dog.”
