Jordyn Ellorin, MCM’19
I grew up on a small sustainable dairy goat farm in Northern California. I moved to Chico, Ca to attend California State University, Chico and obtained a BS in Animal Science. Throughout my undergraduate degree, I worked at Forest Animal Hospital as a Veterinary Assistant. My goal was to graduate and go on to become a DVM focusing on reproductive issues. During my junior year of undergrad, I took a conservation ecology class that altered my career goals and changed my desired path. After graduating in 2017, I moved to the San Diego, Ca area to work at the San Diego Wildlife Center as a Wildlife Technician. My experience as a technician up to that point was strictly large and small domestic species, but at the Wildlife Center I worked to triage, rehab, and release native wildlife. I hope to be able to use my knowledge from the MCM program to intertwine my interests in reproductive issues and conservation efforts. I will be driving across country with my three year old German Shepherd, Sullivan, and will also be bringing my love of coffee, travel, and pigeons.
