My name is Kritika Dhungana and I am from Kathmandu, Nepal. I’ve wanted to be a Veterinarian and work with wildlife ever since I can remember. Hence to pursue my passion, I completed my Veterinary degree from TANUVAS university in Chennai, India in 2014. After graduation I worked in Pastures Pets Clinic till May 2016. Since then, I’ve been very fortunate to engage myself as a volunteer fulfilling different roles in various programs and organizations that work for conservation, and wildlife rescue and rehabilitation in both Nepal and India. During my time as a volunteer, I had the opportunity to work closely with some of the most dedicated and inspiring people in the field. I’ve also been involved in rescue and rehabilitation of abandoned, sick and injured domestic animals and trained and volunteered in animal birth control and anti- rabies campaigns. These experiences have made me very aware of the need for a multidisciplinary approach to conservation. Therefore, I believe the MCM program is the way I can make the maximum sustainable difference. I want to work as a veterinarian towards global conservation and also aim to uplift the Veterinary profession in Nepal. Apart from being a vet, I love trekking and swimming. I also enjoy traveling to new places and learning about different culture and traditions. My Jhumki, she is the meanest, bossiest yet the most lovable doggie ever.
