My name is Kellie Carter and I first started my journey working with wildlife while completing my B.S. in Biology with concentrations in Zoology and Marine Biology from CSU Stanislaus.  I have since completed an A.A.S. in Veterinary Technology from Truckee Meadows Community College in 2007 and graduated from Oregon State University with a B.S. in Fisheries and Wildlife Science in 2013.  Prior to entering the MCM program I worked as a veterinary technician in Nevada and taught at the community college.  An interest in conservation and veterinary medicine drew me to the program.  For many years I have volunteered with local organizations with wildlife surveys and educational programs.  My dream job is working with migratory species to determine the factors that potentially alter species at a population level, especially tree roosting bats.  Outside of school and work I spend time with my husband and two girls, and our four cats, rabbit, and dog.
