When they say good things come in small packages, Maria Rodrigues could not agree more. She would also tell you she is extremely grateful. Grateful not only to have a loving family, which includes her new addition Gidget, a Papillon and Yorkie mix, but also grateful to have had the caring staff at Foster Hospital for Small Animals at Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine heal Gidget’s teeny little heart. With Gidget’s diagnosis of Patent Ductus Arteriosis (PDA) at only three months old, Maria speaks from her heart about how she knew she had come to the “right place” from the time she had her very first interaction by phone. When Stephanie and her husband left New England for a relaxing Caribbean cruise, the last thing they expected was for Dozer to land in the Critical Care Unit a day later. Dozer was brought to Tufts Foster Hospital for Small Animals at Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University by Stephanie’s parents who were taking care of him at the time. Dozer’s condition was touch and go, a dramatic difference from a couple days before.
